Research Adda at DEH

The Department of English and Humanities at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized a “Research Adda: Choosing a Viable Topic for Research and Selecting an Academic Journal for Publication” on December 2, 2021.

Facilitated by Mohammad Mosiur Rahman, Senior Lecturer at DEH, the Adda was attended by 80+ participants, who are either doing their thesis or in their penultimate semester at University. Faculty members from different disciplines also participated in the Adda.

The objective of this Adda was to enlighten participants, especially young researchers, about the factors required for choosing a certain research topic starting with its usefulness, how much information is available, if these information can be extracted, how affordable is the chosen research methodology going to be for the researcher, and so on. Mohammad Mosiur Rahman kicked off the program with his detailed discussion of the different factors that researchers need to be aware of while providing a rich array of supporting materials. Thereafter, the discussion became more interactive with faculty members and students pitching in their opinions, experiences, etc.
