A webinar on “Applying for Higher Studies” was organized by the Department of English and Humanities on January 13, 2022. Facilitated by Dr. Syeda Farzana Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Humanities (DEH), the workshop ran for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and was attended by 85+ participants. The objective of this webinar was to guide participants about the crucial factors that must be taken into account when applying for higher studies abroad. Dr. Sultana also shared some personal anecdotes about her experiences and gave useful insights regarding the importance of choosing a university and a career after thorough research. She highlighted how every practical aspect of life must be taken into consideration before making the final call since finance and mode of survival are very difficult and can vary from one individual to another based on their personality.

The webinar began with the facilitator breaking the ice by interacting with the students about how she felt quite indecisive regarding her life choices. On this statement of hers, more students joined the conversation and shared similar personal experiences. At the end of the workshop, the floor was opened for a question-answer session.
