DEH Student Workshop: Job Hunting and Networking

The Department of English and Humanities at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh organized a workshop on “Job Hunting and Networking” on August 25, 2022 for the students of ENG 413/498/499. Ms. Arifa Ghani Rahman, Head and Associate Professor, Department of English and Humanities (DEH), conducted the workshop. The purpose of this session was to enlighten DEH students who will be graduating in Summer 2022 about job searching and networking. The workshop is part of a series of workshops conducted especially for students in their final semester to guide them in finding a job and applying for higher studies.

The workshop began with a brief overview of what networking is and why it is important. After that, the facilitator explained the process of job searching. She described every possible and efficient way to search for jobs. Participants were also informed about what they should and should not do while they are looking for a job. In this session, Ms. Rahman shed light on what a person must do to prepare themselves to grab the opportunity and make the most of it. In the networking sector, she explained briefly how to build a network in the job industry and its efficacy. Ms. Rahman also provided some sources where participants can look for job opportunities.

The students of ENG 413/498/499 participated in this session.
