With the objective of showcasing the DEH Scholars Program students’ learning experiences thus far, the Department of English and Humanities at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized the DEH Scholars Program Experience Sharing on November 8, 2022.

After a brief introduction to the Scholars Program by the Program’s Advisor, Mohammad Mosiur Rahman, Senior Lecturer, DEH, five of the current students of the program, Afreena Rahman (Batch 183), Rupak Saha (Batch 192), Ereti Rhidil Rahman (Batch 193), Amreeta Lethe Chowdhury (Batch 201), and Ritobina Ria Dey (Batch 201), shared their reflections on the events they attended, the courses they audited, and the benefits they received as Scholars Program students in the Fall 2022 term. After the presentations, a question-answer session was held to give interested students a chance to clarify any confusions they might have about the program.

Together, the five presenters offered a great overview of the benefits of the program such as the extra, independent research opportunities they had during their regular course work. They also spoke about how their confidence and motivation levels have improved due to the guidance offered by their course teachers and the SP Advisors.

Towards the end of the event, Ms. Arifa Ghani Rahman, Head of the Department, expressed her thoughts and visions for this program. She encouraged prospective students to enroll in this program so that they can strive for academic excellence and explore extensive educational opportunities not covered by the standard curriculum. She also expressed her gratitude to the Scholars Program students and the faculty members associated with the program for their achievements. Lastly, the event concluded with a note of thanks by SP Advisor, Mohammad Mosiur Rahman, Senior Lecturer, DEH.

Also present at the program were Scholars Program Committee members Anika Tahsin and Sheikh Nahiyan, Lecturers, DEH; Tanzia Siddiqua, Senior Lecturer, DEH; Nusrat Tajkia, Lecturer, DEH; and students.
