11th DEH Curriculum Integration Project Showcase and Exhibition
On April 24, 2025, the 11th Curriculum Integration Program was concluded by the Department of English and Humanities at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh with a showcase of nominated student projects and an exhibition. This term’s theme was “Edible Narratives: The Interplay of Food, Culture, and Identity”. The goal of the event was to showcase nominated projects before a panel of judges, which reflected the students’ understanding of the theme in terms of their respective courses.
The showcase took place at the main campus where faculty members and students gathered to view all the projects submitted by the students. The panel of judges included Prof. Kaiser Haq, Dean, School of Arts and Humanities, Professor Shamsad Mortuza, Special Advisor to the ULAB Board of Trustees, Golam Kader Zilany, Senior Lecturer, DEH, and Jahanara Tariq, Lecturer, DEH.
Professor Mortuza began the event with a humorous introduction of this year’s theme. Shortly after, eight teams presented their video and live presentation and performance projects. The judges then visited the showcased paintings, posters, magazines, and poems. They conversed with the students about their projects to get a better idea on their perspectives.
Before declaring the winner, Ms. Tariq and Mr. Zilany both congratulated the students and appreciated the hard work they put into each submission. During his concluding remarks, Professor Haq appreciated the creativity that had gone into all the projects, calling it admirable. He further suggested that new categories be introduced with different criteria based on the project types to make the judgement procedure more relevant. After careful consideration, the judges announced the three winners.
