He advised students to determine which industries they are interested in, the roles they want to pursue, and the level of responsibility they aim for, emphasizing that searching for jobs in a well-structured manner is crucial for success. Students were encouraged to explore BD job portals, LinkedIn groups, and relevant networking platforms to discover potential job opportunities.
Mr. Alam then discussed the role of networking in career development. He shared strategies for connecting with industry professionals by attending events and workshops. Another key aspect of the workshop focused on the interview process. Mr. Alam talked about the importance of interview preparation. He encouraged the students to research the companies they were applying to, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and prepare answers for common interview questions. Confidence, communication skills, and cultural fit were identified as key qualities that interviewers look for. He also shared a job interview checklist to guide students through the preparation and interview process.
To wrap up the session, Mr. Alam shared a personal story about his own interview experiences and how his background in brand marketing and crisis management shaped his career. He concluded the workshop by suggesting students to always research the company and its culture before an interview and to approach each opportunity with confidence.
