Mohammad Mosiur Rahman is a PhD candidate in the Department of English and Communication at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is also a Senior Lecturer (currently on study leave) in the Department of English and Humanities at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). His current research focuses on critical theories of language, power, and social class, with particular emphasis on advancing anti-neoliberal and multilingual educational frameworks to address inequalities produced by language policies in multilingual Asian communities.
Rahman has disseminated his scholarship through publications in internationally recognized and leading regional peer-reviewed journals, including Applied Linguistics Review, International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism, Linguistics and Education, English Today, Journal of Language, Identity & Education, Journal of Teacher Education, Asian Englishes, Pedagogy, Culture & Society, English Teaching & Learning, The Journal of Asia TEFL, 3L: Language, Linguistics, Literature, and Issues in Educational Research, among others. His work has contributed to ongoing debates in applied linguistics, language policy, multilingual education, and social justice in Asian contexts of language education.
In addition to his research contributions, Rahman has demonstrated sustained academic leadership through editorial and peer-review service. He serves on the editorial boards of Computers and Composition (Elsevier), Asia Pacific Journal of Educators and Education (Universiti Sains Malaysia Press), and Crossings: A Journal of English Studies (ULAB Press). He is also an active reviewer for numerous international journals, supporting the advancement of scholarship in applied linguistics and education. Beyond these roles, he has contributed to academic capacity building by conducting numerous workshops and seminars and delivering keynote speeches.
His academic distinction has been recognized through a number of highly competitive awards and scholarships, including The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Postgraduate Research Scholarship, the Universiti Sains Malaysia Vice-Chancellor Award (2019), the Universiti Sains Malaysia Fellowship (2018), and the Graduate Research Assistantship Scheme (2016). He has also received multiple institutional awards in Bangladesh and Malaysia for outstanding research productivity and publications in top-tier journals.
